Root
The root system is well developed, the vertical root depth can reach more than 2-3m, and the horizontal root distribution is wide, about 2 times the crown width. Love light and temperature, it is advisable to choose gentle slope mountain with deep soil layer and good drainage, especially sandy loam mountainous land is ideal. Strong dryness, more obvious layering. The fruiting period is early, the fruiting period is long, some varieties begin to bear fruit in 2-3 years, and the peak fruit period can be maintained for more than 50 years.
Leaf
Single lobes, alternate, serrated or fully margined, sparsely split, swept in buds, with petioles and peduncles.
Flower
Due to the wide distribution of pear trees, the phenological period varies greatly. As far as the flowering period is concerned, Sichuan Huili, pear trees generally bloom in early to mid-February, and the flowers are white in Jilin Yanbian and bloom in mid-May; Duck pears bloom in early March in Changsha, Hunan Province, and in early May in Beizhen, Liaoning, with a difference of nearly two months. Pear trees cultivated in the same area, depending on the species and varieties, the phenological period is also different, from bud germination to flowering, autumn pear varieties are the earliest, white pear varieties are slightly later, sand pear varieties are later than white pears, and Western pear varieties are the latest, and the range of change is about 10 days.
Fruit
A few varieties of flowers and leaves open at the same time or spread the leaves first and then flower, after pollen fertilization, the fruit begins to develop, the peduncle develops into pulp, the ovary develops into the heart of the fruit, and the ovule develops into the seed.
During fruit growth and development, the early stage is mainly cell division and tissue differentiation, and in the later stage, cell expansion and pulp ripening. The fruit volume growth curve is S-shaped. Pear root growth has two growth peaks per year: when the first growth peak stops growing from new shoots; The second peak is from September to October. Under suitable conditions, the pear root system can grow annually without a dormancy period.
