Red Fuji germination and branching power is strong, the germination rate is 45.5% ~ 84.0%, generally 3 ~ 5 branches, some up to more than 13, so the red Fuji branch buds are large, plus latent buds have early maturity, more than 2 years old branches are easy to extract different lengths of fine soft conical branches and fine conical leaf bush buds. Therefore, red Fuji will not have insufficient shoots.
The proportion of long, medium and short branches in the crown of red Fuji varies according to the age and shape of the tree, as the age increases, the proportion of medium and long branches decreases, the amount of short branches increases, and when it is 4~5 years old, short branches and leaf bushes can reach 60%~70%, and long branches drop to about 20%. When the high grafting age is 3~4 years old, the short branches and leaf bushes reach 70%.
Red Fuji young trees or robust branches have a pronounced axillary bud-bearing habit. Trees in the initial fruiting stage, long fruit branches and axillary flower buds account for a certain proportion, but soon will shift to the predominance of short fruit branches, which bear about 70% of the fruit in the peak fruit stage.
Red Fuji apple tree has a high fruit set rate, under normal pollination, the inflorescence fruit set rate is about 70%, and the flower fruit set rate is 16.2%~40%. The pumping ability of fruit branches is stronger than that of Guoguang, but the fruit branches are thinner and the continuous fruiting ability is poor, only 5.7% can bear fruit for 2 consecutive years, 77.2% of the results of the next year, and 17.2% of the results of the next 2 years. Red Fuji bears early fruit and yields abundantly. Joe rootstocks begin to bear fruit in 4~5 years, dwarf rootstocks begin to bear fruit in 3 years, and enter the full fruit period after 5 years, 2~4 years earlier than Guoguang and Red Marshals. A typical high-yield garden yields 28,500 kg per hectare (1,900 kg per mu) for 4 years.
